"Last time around it was
Alec Baldwin: 2000 - said he would leave the USA if George Bush won. Hmmmmm, do they film "30 Rock" in Europe?
Pearl Jam's Eddie Veddar: "I'm moving to another country if Bush is elected".
Never happended.
Robert Altman: "If George Bush is elected, I'm leaving for France" Instead he moved up North - WAY up North - in 2006. He never did move to France.
Pierre Salinger: "If Bush wins, I'm going to leave the country and spend the rest of my life in France". Here's one that actually DID move to France. My life here in America was never the same.
Now we get started with Susan Sarandon. Good Grief. Real brave moralists here. These Hollywood left wingers are always lecturing to us how important their causes are and how they'll never give up. But if they lose an election------all bets are off. Then all of a sudden it's "If my side loses, I'll leave all you people I pretend to care about behind and run off to Italy or Canada and sulk from there".
And does this egotistical Sarandon think anyone really cares? I mean come on - that's some self absorption working overtime there. I don't think anyone on election day is going to be thinking "Gosh - I really don't want Susan Sarandon or Tim Robbins to leave the country - so I'll vote the way they THINK I should vote, just so they'll stay....."
I agree with TigerCap, all these silly statements do is to energize the opposition. She's not gaining any votes - she's likely just getting someone up who hates Susan Sarandon and getting them to the voting booth.
That said, I wouldn't take this to any extremes - ala Michelle Malkin. I won't be boycotting her films. She has every right to be stupid.
