ABOUT THE ACT OF COOKING
3.1 How do I cook?
* Open your skill list ("P") and click on the Cooking icon. The menu tells you what you can make, how many you can make given your current inventory (bank not included!), and the required ingredients for your recipe/pattern. You can also drag this icon to one of your action bars. You need to be near a camp fire or a stove. These can be found through out the game.
3.2 Can I make a campfire?
* Yes, though there is not much need to. There are fires and stoves through out the game that you can use and not have to care the supplies. If you really want to, you can buy the supplies from almost any trade suply vendor.
3.3 Where can i get recipes?
* Cook Trainers: Many of the recipes can be learned from Kendor Kabonka (Master of Cooking Recipes) at Pig & Whistle in Stormwind. He is up the stairs above the bar.
* Fishing Suppliers[/i}: many of the fishing recipes are bought from the Fishing supliers.

Quest: A few recipes are rewards from completing quests.
* Drops: And several of the higher level recipes are drops.
* Goldthorn Tea: Obtained in the Razorfen Downs instance. From the entrance take the left path, then work your way to the very end, there are stables there. You knock down the walls, then speak to the NPC's there. One is a cook. He will ask you if you want to learn a recipe, say yes and he'll automatically teach you Goldthorn Tea.

3.4 Where do I get the recipe for Clamlette Surprise?
* Clamlette Surprise is just a reward from the Artisan Quest. It is not a recipe.
4 - ABOUT THE RESULTS OF COOKING
4.1 How do I use food?
* Drag the food to your Action Bar.
* Click on the button or coresponding number.
4.2 Does eating food and applying self-firstaid stack?
* Yes, though you can only perform on at a time.
4.3 Can I use food while in combat?
* No. You eat food after combat is done, becauseyou sitdown to eat. Use potions while in combat.
4.4 So what can I make?

4.5 I know that fishing is good for skilling up cooking, what fish can I cook?
* Raw Fish. Basically an fish that's name starts with Raw can be cooked.

4.6 What are the different types of buffs/effects from food?
* There are many different buffs (and even a debuff or two), including (but not limited to):
* +2 Stamina and Spirit (15 minutes)
* +4 Stamina and Spirit (15 minutes)
* +6 Stamina and Spirit (15 minutes)
* +8 Stamina and Spirit (15 minutes)
* +12 Stamina and Spirit (15 minutes)
* +10 Stamina (10 minutes)
* +10 Spirit (10 minutes)
* +10 Intellect (10 minutes)
* +10 Agility (10 minutes)
* Regenerate 6 health every 5 seconds (10 minutes)
* Regenerate 8 mana every 5 seconds (10 minutes)
* Occasionally belch flame at enemies (10 minutes)
* Transform into a human pirate or human rogue/ninja (1 hour)
* Transform into a slime (10 seconds?)
* Become susceptible to spontaneous fear (15 minutes?)
4.7 Can the effects stack?
- They do stack. It's only the ones that give "well fed" (+ stam/spi for 15 min) that don't stack with each other.
5 - ABOUT ADVANCING IN COOKING
5.1 Where are the Cooking Profession trainers?
* Ask a guard! Guards will tell you where to find trainers and other services in most areas. Look for the arrow and flag on your radar.
5.2 What are the different levels/ranks in the professions?
* Rank (Min - Max Skills)
* Apprentise (1-75)
* Journeyman (50-150)
* Expert (125-225) (Requires a book, see below)
* Artisan (225-300) (Requires a quest, see below)
5.3 How do I know which resources or recipes will boost my skill?
* Recipes are colored-coded according to the likelihood that harvesting/creating the item will increase your skill.
* Red items are items that you may not yet make or harvest.
* Orange items will always increase your skill when created or harvested.
* Yellow items will sometimes increase your skill when created or harvested.
* Green items will rarely increase your skill when created or harvested.
* Gray items will never increase your skill when created or harvested.
5.4 Why am I not getting any more skill-ups?
* You have reached the highest skill points for your Rank. Go train to the next rank.
* You need to craft higher level food.
5.5 I am ready to train in Expert, who can train me?
* You need to buy the
* Expert Cookbook from Shandrina in Ashenvale (Silverwind Refuge) (A) (The Refuge is on the north shore of Mystral Lake in southern Ashenvale. You can follow the main road East out of Astranaar and find an unmarked side road leading south to this place.) or Wulan in Desolace (Shadowspray Village) (H) (On the top floor of a 3 story building near the in.). The book cost 1 gold.
5.6 I am ready to train in Artisan, where is an Artisan Trainer?
* You learn Artisan level by completing the following quest.
* Once you have reached level 40 and have 225 in Cooking. (I repeat you need to be at least level 40 and have maxed your skill at 225.)
* Note: There is a known bug. You advance to Artisan, but your max skill remains 225. Make sure you have ingredients to cook something for a skill up to 226 before leaving the area. You can cook with the huge bon-fire in Gadget. It's around the corner behind the inn.
* Alliance Start: Starts with Daryl Riknussun in Ironforge near the grif platform at the forge. https://www.thottbot.com/?q=3002
* Horde Start: Start with Zamja in Orgrimmar in the third house on the right on the near the Valley of Strength in the Drag. https://www.thottbot.com/?q=3131
* You can skip the starter and go directly to Dirge Quikcleave.
* Both send you to speak with Dirge Quikcleave in Tanaris (Gadgetzan). https://www.thottbot.com/?q=829
* Dirge is the slayer of sorrows for anyone not high enough to hunt the rocs in the area..You need to provide the quest giver with 12 giant eggs, 10 Zesty clam meat, and 20 alterac swiss.
* Giant eggs Are a commin drop off Level 40+ Rocs in Tanaris (plenty near Gadgetzan) or Owlbeasts in The Hinterlands.
* Zesty Clam meat can be looted out of Big-mouth Clam (container) that drop off of the Muckshells and Threshers in Dushwallow Marsh, Naga Explorers in Stranglethorn Vale, or Hatecrests in Feralas.
* Alterac Swiss sells for 40 silver per stack of 5 from Ben Trias in Stormwind City (Cheese shop just inside gates) (A) or Inkeeper Abeqwa in Freewind Post (Thousand Needles) (H).
